Advice About Sex:
"Straight Dope from a Bi Chick"

"If you're thinking about having sex, good. Think before you do, because once you jump in, you can't jump back out. (That's not to say you can't stop anytime you want, you can. But things change once you do have sex, and it's easier just not to take that step until you're absolutely ready.) Before that first time, you have to think about at least three things: birth control, STD prevention, and worst-case scenario responsibilities."

This quotation is from Saundra Mitchell's "Straight Dope from a Bi Chick.". It is perhaps the most sensible advice I've seen about sex, particularly since the advice is presented with no moral stance. Readers are given facts about the three items mentioned in the quotation, and invited to think about the consequences of any choices they make.

The pamphlet is indeed useful for those who are considering sexual experiences for the first time, but has information relevant to all of us. It is available for $3.50 (US Dollars), which includes domestic postage cost.

Advice for Friends/Family of Nursing Home Patients:
"Visiting the Patients"

This pamphlet is one I wrote after my mother had been a patient in a nursing home for a few months. It covers many of the ins-and-outs of nursing home visiting that I wish her friends and I had known before her stay there began.

I knew my mother's friends were truly attempting to help. I also realized that some of them had never been faced with this situation before, and did not know that sometimes their attempted kindness was actually being a problem.

Also covered in this pamphlet are some ideas for helping the family of the patient.

Although the advice was written for those going to visit in nursing homes, I think much of it would also apply to visiting anyone who is hospitalized or receiving rehabilitation. It is available for $2.00 (US Dollars), which includes domestic postage cost.
